Birkenstock Women's Madrid Big Buckle Sandal

I’ve had my eyes on these for more than a year now, and I started seeing them everywhere. I asked around and read reviews and heard they weren’t that comfortable, but they seemed comfortable enough in the store. They’re fine for short periods of time, but I wouldn’t want to wear these if I were on my feet all day and verifiably not if there were a lot of walking. Even if I have just a normal day, my feet are always sore and tired if I wear them all day. Such a shame. I’ll still wear them but just on limited occasions. Certainly not the comfortable, supportive Birks I’m used to.

I always thought Birkenstocks were ugly, but the Madrid changed my mine. They are cute and I love the wide buckle. Since they are expensive, I enjoy the prestige when I wear them. I was very disappointed in the comfort though. The wide band cuts into the top of my foot, and the bump beneath the toe area was hard to get use to. I did like how they were adjustable and stayed on my feet.

I will be returning these shoes. They run really big, and because they are so big they are not very comfortable. Super cute but pricey. All that being said keep looking. If you could try them on prior to buying then I think you might like them. I really wanted to love them.

Cute sandal but runs WAY too big! I ordered the 7M, I usually wear either 7/7.5 depending on the shoe. This sandal was way too big, I would say it fit like a size 8 would. Very disappointing since it was a fun looking spring summer shoe.

Bought these for vacation. Very cute on, but not comfortable at all the buckle dogs into the top of the foot with every step. I’ve tried tightening and then loosening the strap, neither helps. Hoping they’ll break in eventually?

They run slightly narrow and one shoe digs into the top of my foot. I may need to try another pair to find out if this is just for this pair. Not a usual Birkenstock comfort feeling.

I had been holding off on buying a true pair of Birks just due to the price but I finally decided to suck it up and order these. Love the color and the comfort. True to size.

Fits true to size, looks very nice on. Can’t wait for the weather to warm up to try them out. These run a little more narrow than typical Birks that why I purchased them.
