XTRATUF Men's 6 Ankle Deck Boot

The Ankle Deck Boot collection has been crafted specifically for off-shore anglers. Anglers are athletes, and like any athlete they demand the best footwear to help them perform at a high level. Xtratuf has created a lightweight design with the same slip-resistant Chevron outsole found on our Legacy boots. The 6" ankle deck boot is a great option for any on-the-water athlete looking for protection with slip-on-and-go styling. This boot is constructed with hand-layed rubber, and so not classified as a commercial grade boot. For those looking for a commercial grade ankle height deck boot please search for the Wheelhouse Boot.

comfortable boots that don't hold up.

I bought these boots for my freshman son in high school as he needed boots for his outdoor education and walking to the different areas of the campus that his classes are. He generally only wears these boots during school hours and occasionally mowing the lawn if it is wet. They began cracking at the toe box within a couple months of him wearing them and now have huge cracks and splits in them. He absolutely loves how comfortable they are but we won't be replacing them with the same brand after seeing the poor quality.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Broke Early

I bought this a couple months ago and they’ve already developed cracks along the top which let water in. Highly disappointed in what was a great boot

Boots made for metal roofing? 🤯

Best boots I’ve ever worn. I worked on a lobster boat for years and xtratuf is the only way to go. I now use them pitting on metal roofs! I have a Video of my walking across wet sheets on a roof and never even moderately slipped. I’ve never walked successfully on a wet metal roof with out almost falling off the roof. Xtratuf has a boot made for metal roofing in my book. The only way I could of stayed up there any easier is if I superglued my feet to the roof

Yes, I recommend this product.

Absolute garbage

My first pair started cracking and splitting after four months of walking on grass. I got a new pair a month ago and the sole is already coming unglued. I wish I could give it zero stars.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not all that

Leaked from day 1 so worthless. Warranty requires their return before I can get a replacement pair. Bought these for my son's summer job. Will be over by the time this is resolved.

Tough Call

This is hard for me to rate. Bought these almost exactly two years ago. Loved the fit and function. Within the last month or so, though, the rubber seems to have dried out and gotten brittle (as others have noted elsewhere). Cracks have formed in multiple spots across both toe creases. Even a short walk through wet grass results in wet feet. They were five star for me while they lasted but two seasons of relatively light use feels awfully short. Time to see what's out there I suppose.

Here’s how to keep your boots from cracking

This is my 4th pair of boots. The first 2 pairs did crack where the boot fold when you get down on your knees. I sealed the first 2 pairs with rubber sealant, but it looked crappy with the rubber glue turning brown as it aged. The heel wore down within a year due to walking on concrete sidewalks. So I got smart, since I love these boots for its easy in and out, high enough for torrential rain and wet grassy areas, I use a rubber boot treatment Revivex / Gear Aid, that keeps the boots flexible and not dry out and crack. But the biggest saver for these boots from cracking is to not bend down and get on your knees or one knee, just squat with boots flat on ground. This way my boots lasted over a year or two sometimes, and I am on my 5th pair now, the last 2 pairs never cracked or dried up. I do add some Shoe Goo on the bottom heels when they get thin and ready to tear. If you love these boots as much as I do, follow these steps in keeping your boots from cracking, and they are not built for long distance walking on pavement.

Yes, I recommend this product.
