XTRATUF Men's 6 Ankle Deck Boot

The Ankle Deck Boot collection has been crafted specifically for off-shore anglers. Anglers are athletes, and like any athlete they demand the best footwear to help them perform at a high level. Xtratuf has created a lightweight design with the same slip-resistant Chevron outsole found on our Legacy boots. The 6" ankle deck boot is a great option for any on-the-water athlete looking for protection with slip-on-and-go styling. This boot is constructed with hand-layed rubber, and so not classified as a commercial grade boot. Not the Same Boot as in years past

My son loves these boots, he wore his old pair for years. Bought him a new pair for Christmas and the boot design is narrow and smaller now. Not sure what has changed with the boot design, but comfort, durability and width of toe bed has drastically changed. He has been trying to "break" them in for a month now and he has finally decided to try a different brand. So sad because these were his go to favorite boots that could withstand all the wear and tear. To pay this much money for shoes and not have the same wear is terribly disappointing.

Topside rubber split and boots leak

I absolutely loved them for getting through Seattle winters. The soles are still like new. The top sides however are a different story. The rubber or neoprene (whatever it is) has split on both boots just above the sole - topside joint and the splits have grown. Sadly, they now leak. I’ve tried to mend them with Shoe Goop but it doesn’t cling that well to the topside material. I don’t have large or wide feet or bunions that would cause excessive strain where the splits occur. I can’t recommend them.

Just say no to these boots

Don’t expect them to last more than a year. Had high hopes these would be xtra tough but maybe it’s more like extra fragile and expect wet feet. Living in the Pacific Northwest I was hoping these would become my outdoor winter slippers from November through April. After one season both boots have cracks at the sole and cracking rubber at the toe box. Very disappointing for the price

Durability an issue

I bought these boots a little over a year ago. Loved look and feel of boot. Worked well for a while but 3 months in the back loop fell off. Now after a year or so the crease at the toes are ripped on both boots. Work outside and they are no longer waterproof. Durability not as good as I hoped given the name of boot. Disappointed

Comfortable but surprisingly bad quality

Very comfortable but essentially non functional if you’re even remotely active in them. I got these boots late last year and they failed after less than three months of use. Both boots split. My wife already had two pairs and bought a third. All of them have now split. 9 months is the longest we got out of any pair of this style of Xtratuf boots. It’s really disappointing given the price. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but for this price it’s a crazy bad deal. Even my academy brand cheapo boots last two years of having everything under the sun thrown at them. I should have contacted xtratuf sooner but once the toes were split I just put the boots in the closet and didn’t get around to contacting the company.

Switched to Grundens

These boots cracked after a couple of months of regular use. Three of my buddies have the same boots and we all have holes in the same place. I wore them for more than a year with holes but I ended up switching to Grundens this season. If you are looking for deck boots and are comparing the two brands I recommend the Grundens or at least staying away from this particular extra tuff product. The Grundens are softer rubber with a square toe, whereas these extra tuffs are a harder rubber with a narrow toe box. The Grundens also have more cushion and wear more like a moccasin whereas these wear stiffer like a clog. We'll see how long the Grundens last but they can't be any worse than these.

I bought these boots for my boyfriend on Oct 19, 2024. He has not put these through the ringer at all. He wears them 1-2x a week when its rainy around town. Nothing crazy. About a month ago he noticed a crack starting in the rubber of the left boot, which has now turned into a large multi-crack system that leaks immediately. What a bummer dude.

Great Feel but Poor Quality

I received a pair of the 6” deck boots for Christmas 2021. I couldn’t have been more excited for some yard kickers and fishing boots. Being a weekend warrior they were perfect for a little lawn mowing and a little inshore fishing. Super comfortable, easy on and easy off. However here we are end of July, almost 8 months into their life and they are essentially dry rotting. The natural creases of the boots are tearing rendering them no longer water proof. Simple task such as throwing a net or walking In the yard early morning leave me with wet feet. Do I love them? Yes I do. Are the comfortable? Yes they are, in fact they are my favorite pair of shoes/boots. However I will not be buying another pair. Quality of the product does not meet the price sold at nor advertised. How many commercial fisherman actually wear is brand and are satisfied?? Also don’t get me started on their weak warranty….. Coming from a weekend warrior I’ll be buying a different brand next time. Really disappointed in these….
