Merrell Men's Jungle Moc Leather Wide Width Slip-On

I have actually bought this BLACK LEATHER JUNGLE MOC shoe since 2008 buying half dozen pairs. This latest pair not even 3 months old has the sole peeling off the toe on both shoes. It either is a poor design attempting to wrap the sole up onto the toe or it’s a bad different type of glue, I do not know. NOT WORTH THE LOW VALUE, in this poor present state. The shoes look like new other than these defects. I take very good care of my shoes.

I thought I would try a wider version of a similar shoe I've worn and loved for years. I couldn't find that particular shoe on your website. Maybe it has been discontinued, since I haven't been able to find it in stores either. So I thought the this Jungle might do the trick. Unfortunately the side of the shoe is higher than the model I had previously. This is only a problem on my right foot where the shoe affects my lower ankle bone adversely (painfully). Once they are broken in I don't think that will be a problem, at least I'm hoping it won't be. I subtracted one star for that reason. Not really fair - it's a five star shoe.

I ordered these brown leather Jungle Mocs because I LOVE the suede version I have been wearing for years. I wanted something a little more weather friendly and these promised to fill the ticket. Unfortunately, while they fit everywhere else, the sides of the shoe come up a little too high and rub uncomfortably on my ankle. I did see this complaint on another review but decided to try them anyway. Looks like that might have been a mistake. I have four other pairs of Merrill shoes and this is the only pair which has given me this problem. I hope time and wear will solve the problem because in all other ways I am pleased.

I've have these shoes before in black not brown, in fact order two sets at a time just to have another set for when the first set wore out. The black ones were great and I would have rated them 5 stars. They were better looking and had a better feel before the 'tentacle' look. I can actually feel the tentacles when I walk, they feel (to me) like bumps or lumps on my feet. Weird. Would be nice if the previous soles came back soon, because I need two new sets quickly. Somethings are better left unchanged, and this is one of them. Still like Merrell products but now looking at different brands for something similar.

My husband swears by this model of shoe, he's had multiple pairs over the years as he wears them down quickly because he is on his feet most of the day. Since it's becoming increasingly more difficult to shop in a brick and mortar store, this was our first time buying from the website. My husband normally wears 11, sometimes 11.5 in Merrell shoes. We had to exchange for 10.5 to accommodate for the wide width, which we never find in stores but he definitely needs. He says while the width is perfect around the widest part of his foot, the opening is too loose because it too is wider. He leaves them at work because they work well enough, but won't be wearing them out and about.

All Jungle Moc (wide) models are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They also look a lot better in leather than in the fuzzy material (also have those models and my wife says they look ugly) and are much easier to clean. Very easy to put on and off. They are more water resistant than the fuzzy material, however my socks still got wet from hiking through a grassy terrain from the morning dew. I know they are not meant for hiking but I have done several days of non demanding hiking (no crossing streams and mostly flat terrain) without getting any blisters or any other problems. Traction is good, have not tried mud nor snow though. The ventilation, however, is less than the models using the fuzzy material, so if you get them wet, they will be wet for a while. I love those shoes for comfort, however, I use Moab vents for more challenging hikes especially if I know the shoes will get wet and in a mountainous terrain.

Bought two pair of these in one of you stores, Black pair (j60889) USA 10.5 of these in 2019 and love the wear and comfort of each pair but the black pair squeaks when I am walking in them and it is annoying to me as well as whom I am with at the time. I keep thinking if I wear them long enough they will stop but no such luck. I have been wearing them since purchase date but still squeaks, please advise how I can resolve this annoying problem. My brown pair does not make any kind of noise so I try to dress so as to wear the brown pair. I like the comfort of both pair but hate the squeak in black pair. Tried them with and without extra cushion inserts, with no luck. Please advise to stop squeaks!

I had ordered the Jungle Moc 2 but got 1/2 size too big. They seemed nice and since I couldn’t reorder them in my size since they were out of stock. I’d decided to get the Moab Adventure Mocs instead. I have flat feet and the new pair fits like a glove and give plenty of support. Merrell makes great shoes.
