The good: these boots are beautiful, light, and comfortable. I love how they look and feel. The bad: the soles on the bottom are VERY thin which means they can very easily be damaged with only a bit of friction. I have worn them under ten times, for reasonable lengths of time and on low impact terrain, and the soles of the shoes have already started to peel off on one shoe. I’ve never had such an issue with any shoe before, especially with so little use. Neutral: They do scuff easily, because of how thin and soft the leather is, though I think that is an example of reasonable wear and tear and can be managed by properly conditioning your shoes. While there are a lot of pluses, I wouldn’t recommend these shoes given how fragile they are, unless you’re not concerned about cost and are very committed to the upkeep of them (and accept that the customer service you’ll get from Shoe Company will not cover the cost of repair). Given I had already spent money and wasn’t sure I’d be able to get the same boots again, I decided to pay to have a thicker rubber sole added, though it does feel absurd to spend an extra $65 to repair practically new boots. If I were to do the whole thing again, I’d order a similar style boot from a different brand (and directly through the vendor, not shoe company, with the hopes customer service might be more invested in customer satisfaction).
