Seam between upper and sole cracking like other reviews. The things are also not waterproof, daughter’s feet got wet during a standard hike in PNW in April. I sprayed toe area lightly with hose and things filled with water. Really disappointed with that part of it. I am going to just DWR the boots and keep going with them though as they my daughter likes them well enough and it is about summer here. I just don’t trust any membrane that isn’t GORTEX anymore, they are all garbage. If you think otherwise try using the gear for over a decade (or even 3+ years, or once in this case).

This shoe was purchased for her first big girl hike. She climbed to the top of Walter’s Wiggles in Zion National Park. Even though it was a new shoe, it did not cause any raw or blistered places on her feet. Besides some dust, the shoes look brand new. We are very pleased with the performance of this shoe.

I ordered this in November and my daughter has been using all the time. No need to say, she loves them. However, after these 3 months, you can already see some damage on them where the sole meets the fabric.I would expect Merrell to last longer without these details.

My son appreciated the lightweight aspect of these shoes compared to his other MOABs he had. The waterproofing and grip worked great when we were hiking in nasty weather at Baxter State Park

Our family lives in Merrells so I am predisposed to love this shoe- my 11 year old loves the fit and comfort and it was waterproof as a frog’s outside for the first 4 months. Then the shoe developed leaks in its waterproof membrane where the sole meets the upper, and seepage was a problem just walking on muddy trails. Bummer! Shoe still has lots of miles left but they will have to be dry ones, need a different waterproof option. :-(

I wanted a shoe with good traction and waterproofing for my son to wear to school when it was still messy out but snow boots would be too much. These worked perfectly this week and he can still run and play and not have to worry about getting wet feet!

Love them! Took these on our trip up to Lake Lake Superior! Light weight, waterproof, comfy! Who could ask for more! Hiked down to waterfalls and hunting rocks on the shores of Superior (ice cold water!) my feet never got a drop of water on them!
