We love love love these shoes and I'm so sad they don't extend the sizing to bigger kids because my son is on his last size (10T) of his "colorful" shoes. Love the wide toe box, even in the regular sizing. Easy to put on. Hold up really well to the abuse my preschooler has put them through- rain, mud, dragging his toes on the concrete/ asphalt, etc. Taking away a star because of the limited sizing to toddlers.

These shoes are great. She's worn them through three different sizes and years. Easy to get on and off, flexible, she loves the colors and the matching to mine, we've had no issues with wear...aside from the velcro. The velcro is terrible, lasts less than half the summer, and then we cut it off. They usually stay on okay, but are definitely less secure and tend to come off much more easily when she's running. On the sandals it's the same story, but since they have straps we've sewn our own velcro onto them...three summers in a row.

We have loved Merrell's WIDE fit bare steps line of kids' shoes as barefoot shoes for our son's growing feet. Unfortunately, his 8.5 W sneakers started falling apart within 4 months of irregular (he alternates with two other shoes) wear. The sole separated from one shoe, the suede tore on the other, and the velcro on BOTH shoes are completely useless in less than 6 months. The shoes were "in repair" half the time (the black velcro is my patchwork) and got very little use before he grew out of them.

My 2 year old will not wear any of her other shoes now. They're so great for running, climbing, hiking. Super easy for her to put on and very flexible.

They fit him well and give him plenty of room for foot muscle development. Unfortunately, after wearing them to daycare for three days, the suede-like material started to wear and the little vents on the pinkie toe side of one of the shoes ripped into a single hole. The hole hasn’t gotten bigger, or I would have sent them back. The sole seems exactly as advertised, and the colors on the shoes are beautiful (he loves them!). I’m just disappointed that a company as reputable as Merrell wouldn’t invest more in the material that decorates the outside of a shoe that is for toddlers to wear daily. The exterior of the shoes wore so quickly that they look old, even though I purchased them recently.

My daughter does love these shoes. They’re flexible and comfortable. HOWEVER, they do not hold up to toddlers. Please see all comments before buying. These shoes only lasted about 2 weeks.

So glad to find rainbow shoes but these are not durable. The first pair we got, the Velcro didn't stick after a couple months. Merrell sent us another pair. This second pair we've had for less than a month and they already have a hole. There are two little breathing holes(?) that are built into the shoe, but they are in a spot on the shoe that is prone to ripping, which then makes a big hole. I am so sad because my kid LOVES these shoes, but they are just not durable.

Less than 2 months into wearing this shoe and the Velcro no longer sticks ☹️. Super disappointed as I’ve been a Merrell fan for 20+ years, and never had one of their shoes disappoint until this morning ast year. We purchased another toddler sneaker last summer and those lasted 6 months. I’dxpect better Velcro quality. It does exist.

We had a pair of these sneakers in a size 5 and they are now on their second kid, but I got a size 10 for my 3 year old and the Velcro stopped working after 3 months. Through their warranty program, I ordered a replacement pair and the Velcro on the replacement only lasted 1 mo. That is so unfortunate because we love everything else about the shoe!

These are too hard to put on. The suede and the soft sided nature of the shoes, plus the narrow entry, make it quite a chore. My daught thinks they're comfy when they're on, but they're just too difficult to put on so we had to stop using them. The look and quality are great, the design is poor for a little kid.

Terrible quality. After just 2 months, the holes on the side have completely busted open, and the velcro doesn't work anymore. These are the most expensive shoes that I've ever bought my 3 year old, and they didn't last nearly as long as cheap Target shoes. I expected a lot more from Merrell.

Well should have stuck to the other reviews. My kid absolutely loves them but they are falling apart! They aren’t worn daily (in the mix of a few pairs) and had them a month maybe 2. For this price point, and this brand I sure expect more. Does Merrell not stand behind their product. Plus they are very light weight!
