Nice surprise

I purchased these online, without trying them on. When they arrived they were bigger and chunkier than I had hoped. My last pair of Columbia winter hikers were low rise and very light and 'slim' for lack of a better word. These seemed heavier and are higher.
I tried them on and they fit a tiny bit large but that gives room for extra socks if needed. Winter has not been very cold this year so I can not accurately speak to their warmth but they are warm and comfortable.
I am happy with these and hope they last as long as my previous boots, which are still in good condition. I would buy this brand again, very good quality.

NOT waterproof!!!!

Bought these last month for my son. Unfortunately they are not waterproof as advertised. His feet were completely SOAKED after tobogganing.
Extremely disappointed.

Columbia Fairbanks omni heat

The columbia fairbanks runs small. Im a size 11 wide for most shoes but with this im a size 12 wide. Its waterproof and lightweight. Comfortable to wear daily. Got them on sale so its a plus.

warm, dry, comfortable, and it looks great! love the colours and design. on the downside they are not as tall as i wanted as snow falls in at the back if its deep enough. my last boots had a cinched top which prevented that, and were also taller, so i'm not used to this issue and it is regretable. they are also a real lace-up boot - i have been moving over to laceless designs whereever i can but this one needs to be done up and undone at every instance which is, strangely now in my middle-age, a nuisance. where's the velcro boots??
