Merrell Men's Speed Strike 2 Hiking Shoe

I hike waterfalls and woods. These shoes are not good for Off trail. The soles are to high and become trippy. Are excellent for a trail hike but not for bushwhacking Guess I'll save them for the trails and the beach.. but not rocky beaches.. they are trippy there as well.

I wanted a pair of spring-to-fall mid-weight hiker rather than true hikers or trail running shoes. The size 9 fit was correct for me. I liked the good grip of the deep tread, support of the feet and arch. Mid-height hiker would offer better ankle support and waterproofing, but at the expense of bulk and weight. I consider these durable and average priced. They were advertised as waterproof but not Gore-tex, They did the job with drizzle, sprinkles of rain, and small puddles, but my feet were soaked after 3 hours of walking in constant rain. It took 2 days to dry out these shoes. Next time I will give them a waterproof spray and wear longer rain pants.

I stand and walk all day at work. These shoes, with compression socks, keep my feet and legs feeling good all day!! 🙂

So far these have been great in the cold, snowy winter. They seem to be waterproof as advertised and are relatively comfortable. They work well for shoveling and are comfortable enough to wear to quick trips to stores, etc. I wouldn't want to wear them all day long. I specifically went with the all black version of these since they look like sneakers not something you'd wear to climb Everest. I recommend them.

After purchasing a pair for myself, I bought a pair for my husband as we like to hike. These are comfortable, good grip in the snow, gravel, hill and hills. They are very stylish. I prefer this type of shoe over a running/walking shoe. He loves them as much as I love mine.

Great fit and Function but not for colder temps.. anything below -5C I don't recommend them. I walk 3-5kms a day and these don't cut it and I had to change back over to a leather walking shoe to get the proper protection and breathability.

These waterproof, everyday shoes fut great and are super comfortable. I hesitated to buy them because my last Merrill shoes didn't fit well; it seemed one shoe was slightly to tight. But the Speed Strike is the real deal.

Hiked trails in Tucson, all good. Now doing West Highland Way in Scotland. Some technical parts of the trail and the toe section has a bit too much give. Also, not exactly sturdy enough in the top, it gives a bit much too.
