The 18 Ghost are great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been wearing Ghost for about 10 years and the 18 is my favorite so far. The new sock like tongue feels and works great. My feet feel solid inside the shoe and the toe box is a perfect size.

Confused

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just returned, I’ve been wearing ghosts for over 8 years and something has changed. I have two pairs now that are 18 and this pair hurt my right arch?

ghost 18 feel too much room

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the sneakers but the size 13 feels larger than the 13 I had with the Beast 25 sneakers I had previously. I will have to send them back and try a 12.5 instead.

Very Comfortable

Very comfortable fit. I bought the narrow width and the fit is very good. It has been a while since I have worn the Ghost. I like this color option. Options are few with the narrow width shoes.

Ghost 18 Charles Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had Brooks running shoes over the past several years and I only use them for my workout at the gym. Comfortable and easy on the feet whether on the treadmill, stationary bike or elliptical. The Ghost 18 are my second Ghost pair. And I purchased them for the reasons noted. The shoes are comfortable the moment I put them on. And having had some minor foot issues earlier in life, they provide the comfort and stability that I enjoy and appreciate. The wear well and are at a good price point for the quality of shoe. I don't have any issues with them and when this pair of Ghost 18 need replaced, I will return to the Brooks product. I'm 74 years old and maybe these shoes help keep me young.

What and Who Happened?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ghost’s have been my go-to for many years for training, gym, up to 5k runs, and casual wear. They have had a neutral footbed without forcing feet to conform to someone’s bright idea of “arch support” or some other trendy contouring, plates, etc. For 300,000 years, human feet have momentarily conformed to the surface they step on, which is favorably flat, so all that ambitious nonsense with trying to change shapes and contours in the footbed in my opinion, is unhealthy and uncomfortable for most buyers. I’m sure many “experts” would agree, but nowadays everyone has an expert opinion (including me haha - long history of fitness training, coaching, clinical nutrition, MBA). Maybe it will occur to someone in there, Brooks, that these comments indeed ring the bell of truth. Please feel free to contact me for visionary, widely-desired, success-yielding design consultation that will continue sustainable growth 😆 Unfortunately, starting with Ghost 17, you seem to have abandoned your roots or hired some new folk(s) who think emulating Hoka or changing everything was a good idea. Just stop that, then start again from the Ghost 16. The 18 is almost an inch longer than my old 16’s and the footbed now includes some degree of “arch support” and uncomfortable contours. Aesthetically, who thought adding colors and that over the top scalloping on the midsole was a good idea? Task that person with something else and don’t listen to them, Brooks. The heel spur is also too pronounced. Either scale it way back or eliminate it altogether. Just because Hoka posts the profits they do, doesn’t mean the design represents a superior product in terms of form and function. I know plenty of active, competitive folks who’ve returned every pair of Hoka’s bought due to poor design and comfort, while wanting to like them due to popularity or tend-forward thinking. The same goes for On’s - waay too ambitious in the footbed. Back to the Gost 18’s aesthetics - men do not want those metallic/colored midsoles trying to match poorly thought out, too many light-shaded, minimally masculine color way motifs. The scalloping on the outsoles are overdone, and the outsoles on all your shoes (as seen in Glycerine) now taper too extreme to a little point at the toe. The overall feel of this shoe is that of an emasculated elf given the pointy toe outsole, heel spur, lack of proportional balance between the heel, mid, and forefoot that accentuates the length and appearance of the forefoot/toe, silly color ways, and midsole coloring and metallics. A good marketing analysis will show you that sold out color ways of competitor’s products will be earth tones, darks, blacks, and grays that go with everything and don’t look dirty fast, and usually have darker, solid-colored midsoles. Hopefully your current majority light/white midsoles and light color way shades don’t involve strategy for more replacement when dirty. That won’t be sustainable. People want to buy a dope product and a lot of it. Any texturing on midsoles should be masculine and subdued. No cheesy leafing (as seen in Ghost 17) or deep tire tread-like scalloping. Delete the above and masculate these (subdued and tasteful, not cheesy aggressive), and go back to the drawing board, Brooks. For now, I’m mourning the loss of my long-time favorite training, running, active shoe and must look elsewhere…🥲

Missing the old tongue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not a huge fan of the new tongue. It stretches and flexes to much, causing my foot to move and feel less secure in the shoe. At least that’s the feeling I’m getting each time. I’ve adjusted the tightness of the laces. Still no improvement.

sore lower part of the feet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got my Ghost over any other brand for walking since it has been my brand for the past 15 years. From the first walk, I started having discomfort and soreness in the lower part of my feet around mile 4. The following two were also with pain in the feet. What a disappointment

Lace holes too small

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hi Brooks Team The laces holes are too small. Some of us like changing out the laces on our new Brooks running shoes. The holes have gotten smaller going from ghost 17 to 18 and the lace tips hardly fit through without great difficulty. It would be appreciated if on the next version of Ghost 18 (without making any changes that affect biomechanics like offset etc.) but enlarge the lace holes so we can easily change our laces more easily. Thank you Sincerely, Henry Girolamo Medford, MA 02155

Ghost 18.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have plenty of shoes for various activities but for me the Ghost 18 is my walker. Fit was perfect out of the box. I dont think about them when they are on as they become basically invisible with zero hot spots or distracting issues.

The Best Ghost Shoes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are great, they fit comfortably and have been great for long runs or normal walking days. These are my third pair of Ghosts and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants long lasting comfort and stability in their running shoes.

Ghost 17, I miss you

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Personally, I’m a fan of the Ghost 17 over the 18. Sorry, but it’s true. I think the mesh and overall upper on the 17 was superior because it felt like it could dual as both a running and loungewear shoe. The 18’s “shiny” upper gives it unwanted glistening in the sunlight and sometimes can be blinding during runs. I do think the colorways are strong this year, though. I picked up this beige-cream color and it goes well when I wear it in the clinic. They’re still very comfortable for all-day patient care!

Ghost continues to top my list!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've run in Ghost's for many years. The 18 is great, as always. The only downside I've experienced so far is the thin shoe tongue - I'm used to more padding there. The overall cushion, stability and general feel of the shoe is great - as I've come to expect!
