Merrell Women's Morphlite Wide Width Trail Running Shoe

I’ve had my Morphlites for a few weeks, and I love them. They’re light, and they fit my feet well (my feet are wide—duck feet—and one foot has a bunion). I wear them walking on paved roads and running on trails, and I do a total of 6-10 miles/day. But I’m taking a star off for the tread. It’s so minimal, that I slip and slide when walking on uneven wet roads (this was a problem right out of the box). The tread has nearly worn off on part of the forefoot after just a few weeks of use. I’ve avoided steep trails for this reason (I live in the PNW, and if they can’t handle wet roads I’m worried about what wet trails will be like). These are TTS for me. I wear a 10.5 wide in New Balance Fresh Foam Roav, but these are a better fit. Lots of room in the forefoot and toe box, but I can tighten the ankle and arch to prevent slipping. No unpleasant pressure on my bunion, and they are quite breathable. The break-in period was almost unnecessary. I did 1.5 miles on day 1, and 4 miles on day 2. No new blisters or hot spots. It’s a great shoe, but the softness of the tread is a problem. I hope that’s addressed in future seasons if these stick around.

Although I have wide feet, this is the first time I’ve had to purchase wide width Merrells, as the regular Morphlites were too tight. The wide are a bit too wide, so the fabric uppers ripple over the toes. But on the positive side, with tight lacing I get good support, which keeps the bone spurs from being too painful. The arch is as good as my prescription orthotics. I do really wish the wide width were available in more colors than just black or white.

Absolutely love these shoes. I have always had problems finding shoes that fit wide enough and soon as I put them on I couldn’t get over how much room I had in my toe area. So, if you do not have wide feet don’t buy them because they are wide. I find them super comfy and supportive so far. I wish I could get them in a different colour but for me it’s all about wide width and comfort and these shoes tick those boxes. Love Em!

Bought for “wide” width, while the shoe is really wide looking, the actual material around the foot was not wide and my foot rubbed on edge of bottom. My feet are not super wide, I wear medium width shoes, but wanted to see what Merrill’s were like, they are my favorite shoes. I have a pair of Jungle Mocs that are 25 years old, still wear and still love.

Took them to Europe for a 22 day backpacking trip. Walked nearly 20,000 steps every day. Great shoes! Worked for walking, hiking, and even short runs. Quite comfortable, good arch support, didn't have any issues. Plus, look great while walking in the city (so long as you keep them clean).

I bought mine in 8.5 wide width last September 2025 but only began wearing it in November 2025. Why? It was the first huge dump of snow and ice built overnight. These sneakers held true to its form—they provided me with good traction walking on snow. I did skid a few times on ice but did not slip and fall. The huge snowfall produced “white film” around the toes of my sneakers. Luckily, my husband was able to remove it using a toothbrush and sprayed a shoe protector over my sneakers to prevent the “white film” from happening again. It is now late February 2026 and four huge snowfalls later, the “white film” have not reappeared. I know that I will need to spray shoe protector again around late March or early April 2026 when ice melts and the roads become more slushy. Please keep making this shoe, Merrill, and can you perhaps add an all-white option in this style and model? I envision they will go well worn with capris and jeans for late Spring and All-Summer wear. Thanks for your consideration!

This is a repeat purchase so obviously happy with the fit and feel. The only downside is the lining of the shoe near the heel wears through quickly and I need to replace the shoe sooner than I think I should need to.

These are the best travel shoes ever! They are wide and comfortable to wear all day and they look very stylish with my travel outfits. I would definitely buy these again and recommend to all my friends and family.
